Patria Bank (www.patriabank.ro) is a commercial bank in Romania, whose main shareholder is the Emerging Europe Accession Fund (EEAF), whose main investors are important and renowned institutions such as the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development), the EIF (European Investment Fund) and other important institutions at European level. Patria Bank is the result of the merger by absorption by the former Banca Comerciala Carpatica of the former Patria Bank, under the name Patria Bank starting with 2017. The former Banca Comerciala Carpatica was founded in 1999 in Sibiu, and since 2005 its shares have been listed in the Premium category of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, being included in the BETPlus index. The former Patria Bank SA was a Romanian bank, founded in 1993 under the name Banca Romexterra, later renamed Nextebank, and in 2016 it changed its name to Patria Bank. In 2014, the bank's main shareholder became the Emerging Europe Accession Fund (EEAF), whose main investors are important and renowned institutions such as the EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development), the EIF (European Investment Fund) and other important institutions at European level. Patria Bank has been listed on the main segment of the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 2004, with the stock symbol PBK.
